Message from the Strategic Director of Housing and Customer Services

Thank you for your interest in the role of Head of Customer Services at North West Leicestershire District Council.

North West Leicestershire is a District which promotes opportunities and prosperity for local people, and we aim to put residents at the heart of everything we do. Our area combines thriving towns with beautiful countryside in the heart of the national forest, and North West Leicestershire is also a magnet for housing and business growth due to its employment opportunities and proximity to major road and rail networks, and East Midlands Airport. The District sits within the Golden Triangle of M1/M42/M6 and includes the East Midlands Gateway and the developing strategic rail freight interchange.

The Council already has a reputation for being well run and financially secure, providing a positive working environment for a dedicated and experienced customer services professional.  The Head of Customer Services will join us at an exciting time, and working as part of a new management team this new role will help take North West Leicestershire residents and stakeholders forward into a new era of digitally enabled services and outstanding customer service provision.

The ability to work positively and collaboratively across all Council services and to lead teams in a way that matches the values of the organisation is essential.  The Head of Customer Services will lead our corporate approach to customer services, working with all areas of the council to help change our culture and ensure that we have a joined-up strategy and ethos, with a sharper customer focus. This is an exciting opportunity to harness  technology to drive service transformation as well as shape a new team which includes our customer contact centre and ICT. The role will also be the client manager for our Revenues and Benefits Partnership which we share with two other  local authorities.

Your ability to lead and motivate teams to transform service provision and drive through change will be key, whilst delivering increases in customer satisfaction.
